FEYENOORD EXPANSION PROBLEMS
With plans to increase the capacity of De Kuip to 70,000, Feyenoord have been told by the local authorities in Rotterdam that they will need to cover the extra costs to deliver the project.
The current scheme would entail road diversion works around the stadium, the costs of which have been estimated at over 30m euros.

CHELSEA IN TWICKENHAM ENQUIRY
The Rugby Football Union have confirmed Chelsea have enquired about a temporary move to Twickenham, whilst Stamford Bridge is redeveloped.
The Blues are looking to expand Stamford Bridge into a 60,000 capacity stadium, but will need a temporary home during the redevelopment works.
Twickenham has never staged a football fixture.

NO MOVE FOR GATESHEAD ?
The International Stadium in Gateshead could be the long term home for the Club, following comments in a new book by Chairman Graham Wood.
The Club have previously announced plans for a new 7,000 capacity stadium in the town, but it appears increasingly likely that the Heed will remain at the iconic athletics venue.

ENGLAND ON THE ROAD ?
The FA are looking into taking England matches away from Wembley, in a repeat of the exercise whilst the National Stadium was being re-built.
With an American Football franchise in London looking increasingly likely, the revenue generated would enable England games to be staged in the provinces, where support for the National side has traditionally been very strong.

CROWDS BOOST FOR SCOTTISH CHAMPIONSHIP
The Scottish Championship has seen a marked increase in attendances this season, with the arrival in the League of Rangers, Hearts and Hibernian.
With three of Scotland's best supported teams in the division, all clubs are seeing a boost through the turnstiles.
Rangers lead the way with a current average attendance of over 34,000.

FOOTBALL MUSEUMS
Scottish Museum Hampden Park
Located in the main stand at the impressively re-built Hampden Park in Glasgow, the Scottish Football Museum is a superb visitor experience.
With over 2,500 exhibits in 14 galleries, the museum is a fascinating journey through the history of the game North of the Border.
Highlights include an original ticket from the 1872 Scotland v England match, the Scottish FA Cup, and sections of the original Hampden dressing room from 1903, and the South Stand press box.
A host of further objects and images bring the history of the Scottish game to life, and the Hall of Fame honours the players, coaches, and officials who have contributed to the sport in Scotland.
The pleasant cafe and well stocked souvenir shop are also recommended at the end of your visit.
Combining a visit to the museum with the excellent and informative stadium tour(see Blog No.4 April 2014), is the perfect day-out for all football fans.

FAMOUS FOOTBALL PUBS
Antigallican Charlton
Large pub and hotel directly opposite Charlton railway station, only 5 minutes walk from The Valley.
The name derives from the anti-gallic feeling, felt by workers building ships at the nearby Woolwich Dockyards to fight the French !
Being so close to the Thames the pub has a nautical feel, with bare floorboards and marine memorabilia.
All the usual keg beers and lagers available, no real ale or food, all live TV football shown.
